A new video game subscription service called Sling TV is launching on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this week.
The service, which will be free to sign up for, offers TV channels such as ABC and CBS for $5 per month and the HBO Now and AMC streaming services for $10 per month.
The SlingTV website says subscribers can get access to more channels than any other online video subscription service.
“For people who are watching a lot of TV and don’t want to watch all the channels they can’t get that for free,” says David Koehler, a game developer at Sling Games.
The company says it will also be launching Sling Movies on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
“We’ll be offering all our original movies on Sling, as well as movies that are not available on any other platform,” Koehl said.
“Sling is a great platform for people who want to do movies.”
It’s unclear how many Sling users will actually get the new channels and how much they’ll pay for them.
But Sling CEO Joe Buck says the service will give gamers a new way to watch and discover new TV content.
“It’ll be great for gamers who want the most content, because we will be offering new channels to them for the price of subscribing to Hulu Plus, for example,” Buck said.
Sling also announced a partnership with a number of TV networks, including ABC, CBS, CNN, Discovery, Fox News, ESPN and NBCUniversal, and it will be making its own TV shows available for streaming to subscribers through Sling.
Sled’s first TV shows will be The Walking Dead and The Big Bang Theory.
The games that will be available to Sling subscribers include FIFA 17, NBA 2K17, NBA Jam, Halo Wars, Need for Speed: Rivals and Overwatch.
It will also launch a new video-game console called the Sling Pass, which it describes as the first “premium” console for gaming, and will offer the ability to play the latest games at the same time as they’re on the Sled TV service.

What are the benefits of using a game console instead of a PC?
While it may be cheaper for the gamer to use a console instead, it’s also possible to make money from using the console.
“There’s a lot that goes into it.
It’s a PC, and the console is an OS that you install on your computer,” says Daniel DeMarco, an assistant professor of business at the University of Southern California.
“So there’s a bit of overhead that goes along with buying the hardware.
And the software also takes up some resources.”
DeMarco said it would be a great opportunity for an individual to be able to use their home PC to stream their gaming sessions to the SlerTV box.
“In this particular case, there’s not much overhead,” he says.
“But you’re making a ton of money.”
DeMario said a lot can be gained from playing online games, because you’ll be able see your friends’ game scores, compare those scores against your own and earn points for each match.
“The point is to create a really good competitive experience.
And we’re all playing online to do that,” he said.
